Use Whatnot's Default Shipping Settings
The easy way to handle shipping is to let Whatnot do the work. Set it up one time. After that, Whatnot figures out the shipping price for each buyer and makes the label for you.
Why let Whatnot do it
Whatnot can handle shipping for you. When it is set up right, the buyer sees the shipping price when they check out, Whatnot makes the label, and all you do is print it, pack the box, and drop it off. That is less to worry about while you are live.
- It prices shipping for you, based on how much the box weighs.
- It makes the label from your orders. You just print it.
- It can group a buyer's wins so their cars ship in one box.
- Less to do live, you never stop the show to figure out shipping.
How it works
For most sellers, USPS Ground Advantage is the default. It is a good price for the small, light boxes diecast ships in (about 1 to 5 pounds). Priority Mail is still there if you want it. Whatnot uses your package weight to set the buyer's price, so pick a weight close to your real boxes.
📦 One thing to remember
If you use a Ground Advantage label, ship in your own box. Only put Priority Mail or Flat Rate boxes on Priority or Flat Rate labels. Mixing them up can cost you extra fees.
Set it up before your show
- Open your Whatnot seller settings and go to the shipping part.
- Make sure USPS Ground Advantage is picked as your default.
- Set a package weight that matches a normal order. Weigh a packed box to check, or use the default shipping settings offered by Whatnot when setting up your items (recommended).
- Turn on combined shipping so one buyer's cars ship together.
- Save it. It stays set for every show, so you only do this once.
Whatnot changes its menus sometimes. If a step looks different, check the Whatnot Help Center.
Keep it right
- Weigh a packed box now and then so your weight stays close.
- If you often ship big orders or premiums, set the weight a little higher.
- Match the box to the label: your own box for Ground Advantage, Flat Rate box only on Flat Rate labels.
- Use the Step 5: Shipping Guide too so your box size and weight match up.
On show night
- Your shipping is already set, so there is nothing to fix during the show.
- Run the show. Buyers see their shipping price when they check out.
- After the show, print the labels Whatnot made.
- Pack the orders (put one buyer's cars together), add the label, and drop them off.
